A survey of historical Canadian art, from the period of European settlement to the early twentieth century, examining craft and fine art, amateur and professional artists, art institutions, gender, nationalism, regionalism and ethnicity. Students will be exposed to works in the National Capital region. Prerequisite(s): second-year standing or permission of the Discipline.Lectures three hours a week.
