Aspects of chemistry relating to food, food additives, drugs (both illicit and beneficial) and their relation to metabolism and health. Topics may include: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and cofactors, enzymes, steroids, electrolyte and pH balance, trace elements. Available only as a free option for Science students. Prerequisite(s): a course in Chemistry (e.g. Ontario Grade 11).Lectures three hours a week.
