A laboratory-based course including advanced concepts and techniques in organic synthesis, structure determination, and the rates and mechanisms of reactions. Students are responsible for literature surveys, acquisition of theoretical background, and design of experimental procedures. Note: failure to complete CHEM 3201 by the end of the fall term will require deregistration from CHEM 3205. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 2204 or CHEM 2206, CHEM 3201 or BIOC 3101 (may be taken concurrently).Laboratory four hours a week.
